Annie Sloan Stencil * CHINOISERIE BIRDS

Chinoiserie is a whimsical, dreamlike 17th Century Western interpretation of Chinese and East Asian artistic traditions. This Chinoiserie Bird stencil design has been inspired in particular by the exquisite hand painted wallpapers at the palace of Drottningholm in Sweden. Use for an elegant, glamorous or avant-garde look. For an especially palatial look, add gold. See below for some tips. 

Tips

• For an understated Classy look, try layering colors that are in similar tones, or that stay within the same family. Think monochormatic color theme. 

• For an Artesanal,  Folk Art look: Combine bold colors on White or  Navy, or Black will create a fun folk art.   

• Chinosiserie: Napoleonic Blue on White.

• For a Regal Look
• Add touches of gold leaf, using (Gold Size & Metal Loose Leaf)
• Roll on metallic paints, 
• or dab on gilding wax.
